HORSE SELECTION
The Trainer and Tom Trezza Jr will have full authority to select the racehorse. Both the general manager and the trainer will confer before any and all purchases and have full agreement on that horse to be claimed or bought privately or through an auction.
Tom Trezza Jr. will set up the partnership in advance with the full knowledge of each partner that they agree with the decisions and plans that both he and the trainer make. Contracts for ownership will be sent out and will be returned with signature and monies for the percentage ownership agreed upon.
The two most likely ways of purchasing our horses will be either through claiming out of an existing race or through a major horse auction.The claiming/condition purchases will almost always be claimed out of races at the Meadowlands Racetrack. Purchasing at auction will usually be at the November-Harrisburg, Pa. racehorse auction/sale or the January-Meadowlands racehorse auction/sale. In all cases, the trainers will have the final authority on which horse to purchase, although they will confer with the general manager (Tom Trezza Jr.) before making the final decision.
In the case of private purchases, we will use several brokers, including Nick Surick and Steve Manzi (Cat Manzi’s brother).
